This writ petition is filed in Public Interest, seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to provide adequate building and teachers in the Government Women College at Safidon.
Upon notice, reply in the shape of an affidavit of Dr. Jitender Kr. Agarwal, Joint Director Colleges, State of Haryana, is put in record.
Para Nos.2 to 5 of the affidavit reads thus:
"That at present there is no sanctioned post of Assistant/Associate Professor at Government College for Women Safidon. The matter for sanctioning the posts in the college is under active consideration of the Govt. and the posts are likely to be sanctioned very soon. CWP No.9567 of 2012 -2 - That five posts of Assistant/Associate Professors viz a viz one in Maths, one in Economics, one in History and two in English are filled up by the regular Assistant/Associate Professors at Government College for Women Safidon.
That Arts and Commerce streams have been offered to the students in Government College for Women Safidon w.e.f. academic session 2011-12.
That in connection with the construction of building for Government College for Women Safidon, it is submitted that Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary Urban Local Bodies, Haryana Chandigarh has granted approval to transfer of 129 Kanal & 2 Marlas of land from Municipal Corporation Safidon to Higher Education Department free of cost for construction of Government College for Women Safidon vide letter dated 20.3.2012. The matter regarding preparation of drawing for construction of building is under consideration. The process regarding construction of new building for Government College for Women Safidon will be initiated as and when land is transferred in the name of Higher Education Department."
In view of the averments made in the affidavit stated above, we dispose of the petition by directing the respondents to sanction more posts CWP No.9567 of 2012 -3 - of Assistant/Associate Professor in the College and the process to construct building, in the land transferred by the Municipal Corporation, be also initiated in the near future. We are hopeful that for such a good cause, the State Government will not allow any delay to occur.
