Section 20(1) in The Chhattisgarh Municipal Service (Executive) Rules, 1973
(1)Person already in Municipal Service appointed to another service or post by promotion shall ordinarily be appointed in an officiating capacity for a period of two years to ascertain his suitability for the service or post :Provided that the appointing authority may declare that any previous officiation in such a service or post may be counted towards the period of trial to such extent as may be specified in the particular case.
