Section 71(2)(b) in The Standards Of Weights And Measures Act, 1976

(b)without any reasonable cause obliterates any stamp on any such weight or measure, in contravention of the provisions of the first proviso to section 42, he shall, for every such offence be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, or with both.
