Initially this petition was filed by two petitioners, namely, Dr. A.C. Mongra and Dr. Ajay K. Sharma for issuance of a writ of certiorari for quashing the selection/ recruitment/ appointment made by respondents No.1 and 2 to the post of Registrar (Dean) and the eligibility, qualification and mode of selection were the the subject matter of challenge. Subsequently, during the pendency of this petition, petitioner No.2 - Dr. Ajay K. Sharma had withdrawn his claim and now only petitioner No.1 - Dr. A.C. Mongra is the petitioner in the above said petition.
Learned senior counsel appearing for respondentsno.5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 submits that the petitioner was candidate for the post of Deputy Registrar and since petitioner No.2 withdrawn his claim. The selected candidate Mr. Paramjit Singh has already resigned from his post and the C.W.P. No.10316 of 2010 -2- claim of petitioner - Dr. A.C. Mongra is only with regard to post of Deputy Registrar, the present petition has become infructuous as petitioner - Dr. A.C. Mongra has no cause of action and locus standi to challenge the selection of other post because neither he was the candidate for that post only whereas Dr. Ajay K. Sharma was challenging the selection of other candidates other than Paramjit Singh, who h as withdrawn this petition.
Dismissed as having rendered infructuous.
