16. Emigration clearance under sub-section (1) of section 22 of the Act shall be given [by making] [ Substituted by G.S.R. 111(E), dated 24.2.1987 (w.e.f. 24.2.1987).] an entry incorporating grant of emigration clearance to an emigrant for the country of employment for the period of contract and the attestation number of the Mission on the demand should be made in the passport of the emigrant by the Protector of Emigrants.
