Preliminary
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
2. Definitions.
- In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-Chapter II

Authorities of the University
10. Authorities of the University.
- The following shall be the authorities of the University, namely:-11. The Board of Management and its constitution.

| (ii) | the Secretary to the Government in-charge of theAgriculture Department or his nominee not below the rank ofDeputy Secretary | Ex-officioMember; |
| (iii) | the Secretary to the Government incharge of theFinance Department or his nominee not below the rank of DeputySecretary | Ex-officioMember; |
| (iv) | the Secretary to the Government in-charge of theHigher Education Department or his nominee not below the rank ofDeputy Secretary | Ex-officioMember; |
| (v) | the Secretary to the Government in-charge of theAnimal Husbandry Department or his nominee not below the rank ofDeputy Secretary | Ex-officioMember; |
| (vi) | one Member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly tobe nominated by the Speaker of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha | Member; |
| (vii) | two eminent educationists/ scientists from thefield of Agriculture to be nominated by the Government | Member; |
| (viii) | one progressive farmer from within thejurisdiction of the University to be nominated by the Government | Member; |
| (ix) | one distinguished agro-industrialist to benominated by the Government | Member; |
| (x) | one outstanding woman social worker havingbackground of rural advancement to be nominated by the Government | Member; |
| (xi) | one representative from the Indian Council ofAgricultural Research | Member; |
| (xii) | one Director to be nominated by theVice-Chancellor | Member; |
| (xiii) | one Dean to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor | Member; |
| (xiv) | one Professor to be nominated by theVice-Chancellor | Member; |
| (xv) | Registrar | Secretary. |

13. The Academic Council.
| (i) | the Vice-Chancellor | Ex-officioChairman; |
| (ii) | the Director, Research | Ex-officioMember; |
| (iii) | the Director, Extension Education | Ex-officioMember; |
| (iv) | the Director, Prioritization, Monitoring andEvaluation | Ex-officioMember; |
| (v) | the Director Students Welfare | Ex-officioMember; |
| (vi) | the Director, Human Resource Development | Ex-officioMember; |
| (vii) | the Chairpersons of all Faculties | Ex-officioMember; |
| (viii) | Deans of all constituent collegesex-officioMember; | |
| (ix) | the Controller of Examinations | Ex-officioMember; |
| (x) | the University Heads of all the departments fromeach Faculty (from teaching campuses only not below the rank ofAssociate Professor) | Member; |
| (xi) | one teacher of the Professor rank from eachFaculty to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor on rotationalbasis | Member; |
| (xii) | one eminent Agricultural Educationist fromoutside of the University to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor | Member; |
| (xiii) | the Registrar | Member; |
| (xiv) | the Director of Education | Secretary. |
14. Powers and functions of the Academic Council.
15. Research Council.
- There shall be a Research Council consisting of the following, namely:-| (i) | the Vice-Chancellor | Ex-officioChairman; |
| (ii) | the Directors of Agriculture/ Horticulture/Fisheries Department of the Government and Chief Conservator ofForests, Rajasthan (depending upon research mandate andprogrammes of the University) | Member; |
| (iii) | all Directors of the University | Member; |
| (iv) | all Deans of the Faculties | Member; |
| (v) | all Zonal Directors of Research and Extension | Member; |
| (vi) | all University Heads of departments | Member; |
| (vii) | two scientists of eminence from outside of theUniversity to be nominated for particular meeting by theVice-Chancellor for their specialized knowledge of subjects onthe agenda of meetings | Member; |
| (viii) | the Research Council may co-opt as members notmore than four persons for such period and in such manner as maybe prescribed as to secure adequate representation of differentsectors of agriculture and allied fields | Member; |
| (ix) | the Director, Research | Secretary. |
16. Functions of Research Council.
- The Research Council shall consider and make recommendations in respect of-17. Extension Education Council.
- There shall be an Extension Education Council consisting of the following, namely:-| (i) | the Vice-Chancellor | Ex-officioChairman; |
| (ii) | the Secretary to Government incharge of theAgriculture Department | Member; |
| (iii) | the Directors of Agriculture/ Horticulture/Fisheries Department of the Government and Chief Conservator ofForests, Rajasthan (depending upon extension mandate andprogrammes of the University) Member; | |
| (iv) | all Directors of the University | Member; |
| (v) | all Deans of the Faculties | Member; |
| (vi) | all University Heads of the departments, allZonal Directors and all programme Coordinators of Krishi VigyanKendras within the jurisdiction of the University Member; | Member; |
| (vii) | two eminent persons in the field of extensioneducation from outside of the University nominated by theVice-Chancellor for any particular meeting in accordance with therequirement of the agenda | Member; |
| (viii) | three progressive farmers having specializationin general agriculture, horticulture or other allied branchesMember; to be nominated by the Vice- Chancellor for theirspecialized knowledge and experience | Member; |
| (ix) | one representative each of the followingorganizations as per request of the Vice-Chancellor:- | Member; |
| (a) Rural Development Department of theGovernment; | ||
| (b) Co-operative Department of the Government; | ||
| (c) State Agro-Industries DevelopmentCorporation; | ||
| (d) Irrigation Department of the Government; | ||
| (e) Fertilizer Corporation of India; | ||
| (f) National Seeds Corporation; any otherAgro-Industries or Agro-Service Organizations; Member; | ||
| (x) | the Director, Extension Education | Secretary. |
18. Functions of the Extension Education Council.
- Extension Education Council shall consider and make recommendations in respect of-19. Finance Committee.
| (i) | the Vice-Chancellor | Ex-officioChairman; |
| (ii) | the Secretary to Government incharge of theFinance Department, or his nominee not below the rank of Deputy | Secretary Member; |
| (iii) | the Secretary to the Government incharge of theAgriculture Department, or his nominee not below the rank ofDeputy | Secretary Member; |
| (iv) | the Director, Research/Extension Education/Education (one Director by rotation every year to be nominated bythe Vice-Chancellor) | Member; |
| (v) | one nominee of the Board who be the non-officialmember of the Board | Member; |
| (vi) | the Comptroller | Ex-officioSecretary. |
