Section 18 in The Orissa Grama Panchayats Act, 1964
18. Incidents of office.
(1)The office of the members of the Grama Panchayat shall be honorary.(2)[ The members of the Grama Panchayat including the Sarpanch and Naib-Sarpanch shall be paid such sitting fee for every meeting they attend and such travelling and daily allowances [as the State Government may, by notification, determine] [Substituted vide Orissa Act No. 23 of 1987.] and all such fees and allowances shall be paid from out of the Grama Fund.] [Substituted by O.A.15 of 1997 vide Orissa Gazette Extraordinary No. 1567, Notification No. 22433 dated 22.12.1997.]
