Section 44(1) in Tamil Nadu Hackney Carriage Act, 1911

(1)The [Deputy Commissioner] [Substituted for the word 'Commissioner' by section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Hackney Carriage (Amendment) Act, 1964 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1964).] shall appoint a sufficient number of public stands for hackney carriages.
