1. The PIL Petitioner has sought a complete ban on sale and use of fire crackers in the State of Maharashtra from 10 th November, 2020 to 20th November, 2020. It also seeks a direction to the concerned authorities to ensure that no firecrackers are sold till disposal of the PIL.
2. On behalf of the State, Mr. Kakade states that the National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench has vide its order dated 9th November, 2020 issued a total ban in the NCR and similar 1/2 pilst-95794-20 wadhwa direction is made applicable to the cities and towns in the country where the average of ambient air equity is specified.

There are several other directions including directions to the Chief Secretaries and DGPs of all the States of Union Territories which require the enforcement agencies to abide by these guidelines which will include all the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police. On behalf of the State it is submitted that these guidelines will be strictly followed. In view thereof, we do not find any reason to pass any further direction in the matter. Statement on behalf of the State is accepted.

3. At this stage, Mr. Naphade states that in view of the statement made, no further relief sought in the petition. Petition is accordingly disposed.
