53. Specific offences to be investigated by the unit.
(1)The officers posted to the Crime Investigating units will investigate crimes such as murder, kidnapping, rape, dacoity, robbery, dowry-related offences, serious cases of cheating, misappropriation and other economic offences, as may be notified, by the Director General of Police, besides any other cases specially entrusted to the unit by the District Superintendent of Police .(2)All other crimes will be investigated by other staff posted in such Police Stations.
