Sub-Inspectors of Police should be acquainted with the panchayats in their jurisdictions, and should seek their assistance in the performance of their duties, but member of the panchayat should not be treated as in any way subordinate to the Police.All Police Officers shall be entitled to the assistance of the dafadars and chaukidars in the execution of their duties (vide Rules 142 and 163).Chakaran Lands
