Section 1015(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)Inspectors, Sergeants and Sub-Inspectors proceeding on leave shall, if they possess any small arms, deposit their revolvers and ammunition in the police armoury at the headquarters of their district, unless the Superintendent in his discretion permits the officers to take their arms with them. This permission should ordinarily be granted when applied for.
