- Save as provided in these rules, Rules 31 to 35 shall apply to factories in which persons are being regularly employed in a manufacturing process or processes for more than 48 hours a week, or in shifts; provided that nothing in these rules shall be deemed to require the provision of lighting of a specified standard in any building or structure so constructed that in the opinion of the Chief Inspector it would not be reasonably practicable to comply with such requirement.
