Section 43(1) in The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Act, 1978
(1)The Board may supply water to the Government, the [Chennai] [Substituted for the word 'Madras' by the City of Madras (Alteration of Name) Act, 1996 (Tamil Nadu Act 28 of 1996).] Port Trust, the Municipal Corporation of Chennai or any other public or local authority on such terms as to payment and as to the period and the conditions of supply as may be agreed upon.
