55. Fresh Poll in case of destruction of ballot boxes.
- If at any election any ballot box used at a polling station is unlawfully taken out of custody of the Presiding Officer or Returning Officer or is accidentally or intentionally destroyed or lost or is damaged or is tampered with to such an extent that the result of the poll at that polling station cannot be ascertained or any such error or irregularity in procedure is likely to vitiate the poll is committed at the polling station, the procedure prescribed in section 225 C of the Act shall be followed.
