Section 31(1) in The Bidhan Chandra Krishi (Viswavidyalaya) Act, 1974.
(1)An Agricultural Extension Programme shall be taken up in the University with a view to making available to farmers and others the findings of research and helping them to solve their problems. It shall conduct demonstration and training programmes for the benefit of students, extension workers, cultivators and rural people. Increased agricultural production shall be the principal objective of all extension activities and these activities shall be co-ordinated with the other functions of the University and other appropriate agencies of the State.
