Section 45(2) in Punjab State Veterinary Council Rules, 1997
(2)The Punjab Council, shall if it is of opinion that it is in public interest to do so have the absolute right by giving a member of the Service three months' prior notice, in writing, to retire such member on the date on which he completes twenty-five years of service or attains fifty years of age or on any date thereafter to be specified in the notice. Any such member may also after giving atleast three months' previous notice, in writing to the Punjab Council, retire from service on the date on which he completes twenty-five years of service or attains fifty-five years of age or on the date thereafter to be specified in the notice :Provided that no member of the Service under suspension shall retire from service except with the specific approval of the Punjab Council.
