Section 6(a) in The Punjab Animal Contagious Diseases Rules, 1953
(a)The owner or person-in-charge of an animal that has died of a scheduled disease or is suspected to have died of an infectious disease, shall inform the Veterinary Surgeon of the area concerned of this fact. He will not bury or otherwise dispose of the carcass of such animal until it has been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon.
