Section 57(1)(d) in The Madurai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1971

(d)subject to the proviso to clause (c) of sub-section (3) of section 56, acquires any interest directly or indirectly, by himself or his partner, in any subsisting contract made with, or work being done for, the corporation except as a shareholder (other than a director in a company);
