Section 18(2) in The Tamil Nadu Beedi Industrial Premises (Regulation of Conditions of Work) Act, 1958
(2)Where the employees in a beedi industrial premises are paid on a piece rate basis, the Government shall, in consultation with the employer concerned and the representative of the employees, fix, for the purposes of this section, time rates as nearly as possible equivalent to the average rate of earnings of those employees, and the rates so fixed shall be deemed to be the ordinary rates of wages of those employees.
