                              ORDER

1. Today, the learned Government Pleader is not present. The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has also not filed the report. As recorded in our earlier order, the report from the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board states that the water sample is not potable.

2. Today, the learned counsel appearing for the applicant who claims to have visited the area in person states that there is a road which is laid dividing the water body into two and without adequate vents for the free flow of the water. He also complained about the dumping of the garbage by the Rasipuram Municipality into the water body. Hence, we require the actual particulars of persons/agencies responsible for dumping of the garbage into the water body i.e. whether it is by the Rasipuram Municipality as alleged or even by the applicant/ Chandrasekarapuram Panchayat.

3. Let the applicant file either an amendment petition or an affidavit setting out all the other details of any pollution in this regard and also how the garbage is being collected and segregated and treated in the Chandrasekarapuram Panchayat or any other agency.

4. Though notice has been served to the 1st Respondent/Rasipuram Municipality, no one has represented and no counsel is also appearing on their behalf.

5. The District Collector - Namakkal District is also directed to file a report in this regard, after personal inspection either by himself or by deputing an officer not below the rank of the Sub Collector/ Revenue Divisional Officer.

6. Let the matter be listed on 10.03.2023.
