Section 4(iv) in The Dibrugarh University Act, 1965
(iv)to hold examinations and grant to, and confer degrees, diplomas, certificates or other academic distinctions and to deprive persons of any degrees, diplomas, certificates, or distinction granted to or conferred upon them by the University for good and sufficient cause ;
