Provided that during the continuance of the emergencydeclared on 26th October, 1962 under Article 352 of theConstitution, the maximum advance for the purchase of motor carshall be restricted to Rs. 12,000 or 12 month's pay of theGovernment servant or the anticipated price of the motor car,whichever is the least. The amount of the advance thus grantedshall be recoverable in not more than 60 monthly installments. | ||
| (2) The authorityauthorised to sanction an advance for the purchase of a motor carunder this regulation may at its discretion grant such advance onthe basis of the acting rank or appointment for the time beingheld by the officer seeking the advance provided that- | ||
| (a) Such officerhas held the acting rank or appointment for 6 month'scontinuously and he is not likely to revert to a rank too low sothat it is difficult for him to reply the amount in regularmonthly instalments as originally fixed; and | ||
| (b) it is madeclear in every such case that no plea of hardship consequent onre-reversion to a lower rank or appointments would be accepted asa cause or reduction of the amount recoverable every month. | ||
| (c) the grant ofadvance to officers referred to at item (a) (ii) above, shall besubject to the conditions that the advance is applied for by anofficer within 12 months of his arrival at the station abroad. |
