Section 38B(1) in The West Bengal Fire Services Act, 1950
(1)The District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction a local area lies, or such other officer as may be prescribed for a local area, may, by general or special order, either before or after the institution of proceedings in this behalf, compound any offence punishable by or under this Act or the rules made thereunder or withdraw from such proceedings.
