(1)The owner, agent or manager of every mine shall appoint such number of competent persons including officials, as is sufficient to secure, during each of the working shift,-(a)adequate inspection of the installation and the equipment thereof;(b)a thorough supervision of all operations at the installation;(c)the installation, running and maintenance, in safe working order, of all machinery in the mine; and(d)the enforcement of the requirements of the Act and these regulations.
