- If several defendants who have separate interests, set up separate and distinct defences and succeed thereon a fee for one legal practitioner for each of the defendants who shall appear by a separate legal practitioner may be allowed in respect of his separate interest. Such fee, if allowed, shall be calculated with reference to the value of the separate interest of such defendants in the manner hereinbefore prescribed.
