Section 185(3) in The Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994
(3)The Social Justice Committee shall perform functions relating to : -(a)promotion of education, economic, social, cultural and other interest of the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes;(b)protecting the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes from social injustice and all other forms of explantation;(c)ameliorate the lot of the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes;(d)securing social justice to the Scheduled Castes and the Backward Classes, women and other weaker sections of the society;
