Section 14(3) in The Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 1948
(3)On not more than six days in a year which the [State] [This word was Substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Government may fix by rules made in this behalf, for purposes of making of accounts, stock taking settlements or other prescribed occasions, any employee may be required or allowed to work in a shop or commercial establishment in excess of the period fixed under sub-section (1), if such excess period does not exceed twenty-four hours.
