6. Resignation by elected member of the Committee and filling up of casual vacancies.
(1)Any member nominated under clause (f) of sub-section (3) of section 4 may resign his office by giving [one month] [The words 'three months' are substituted by Act No. 4 of 2003.] notice in writing to the Chairman of the Committee and on such resignation being accepted by the said Chairman, he shall be deemed to have vacated his office;(2)Any casual vacancy in the office of a member referred to in sub-section (1) shall be filled up, as soon as may be, and a member so nominated to fill such vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of his predecessor.
