Section 144 in Rules Under the Land and Revenue Regulation

144. Mode of delivery of possession of estate to suction purchaser.

(a)The Deputy Commissioner, or other officer duly empowered shall order delivery of possession of any estate, or any share or any particular lands of an estate, sold under the provisions of Chapter V of the Regulation to be made by proclamation to the tenants and other persons on the estate by beat of drum or in such other mode as may be customary and by affixing a copy of the sale certificate in some conspicuous place of the estate or the particular lands purchased, or where the estate is small, of the village nearest to the estate.
(b)In any case in which a whole estate any particular lands of an estate shall have been sold free of incumbrances in accordance with the provisions of section 71 of the Regulation, the purchaser may apply to the Deputy Commissioner (or other officer duly empowered) for actual possession of the property, naming the persons to be evicted and specifying the land from which they are to be evicted. Thereupon the Deputy Commissioner (or other officer) shall notify the persons to be evicted and if, after hearing the parties and such further inquiry as he may think necessary; he is satisfied that the land specied appertains to the property sold and that the persons to be evicted are not protected by any of the provisions and section 71 of the Regulation, he shall order possession to be delivered to the applicant by removing such persons (or any of them) from the land.
