Section 18(2) in Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Rules, 1966
(2)Mechanical appliances such as exhaust fans shall be used to expel air at the rate of 14.15 cubic metres or more per person, at least three times in an hour :Provided that, the licensing authority, in consultation with the Executive Engineer/Assistant Engineer/Deputy Engineer/Sub-Divisional Officer concerned and in consultation with the District Health Officer or the District Medical Officer of Health or the Divisional Medical Officer of Health or the Medical Officer of Health of Health Unit, having jurisdiction over the area in which the cinema is situated, may relax the condition laid down in this rule regarding the total door and window area, in the case of cinemas where exhaust fans have been provided.
