Surya Kant, J. (Oral)

Notice of motion.

Mr.J.S.Puri, learned Additional Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

In view of the nature of order which I propose to pass, there is no need to seek any counter-reply from the respondents at this stage.

The petitioners seek a mandamus for the grant of the revised pay scales recommended by various Pay Commissions with regard to skilled and semi-skilled staff in the services of the Punjab Government.

The above-stated relief has been sought in view of the decision of this Court dated 15.2.2010 rendered in L.P.A.No.44 of 2009 (State of CWP No.8938 of 2011 [2] Punjab and others versus Rajinder Pal Gauttam and others) (Annexure P9) as well as the subsequent decisions given by various Benches including dated 4.3.2011 rendered in Civil Writ Petition No.3820 of 2011 (Bitu Ram and others versus State of Punjab and others) (Annexure P-14) granting somewhat similar reliefs.

In these circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of in terms of the aforesaid decisions in State of Punjab's case (supra) and Bitu Ram and others' case (supra).
