Section 74(1) in Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Elections) Rules, 1995
(1)Where the office of the Chairman of a District Panchayat or a Panchayat Union Council is reserved for persons belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes [***] [Omitted by G.O. Ms. No. 163, Rural Development, dated the 7th August 1996.] or for women, under section 57 of the Act, only persons belonging to that category shall be eligible to stand for election for such office.
