[ Revenue Officer to be a necessary party in all suits, etc.—Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this Act or in any law for the time being in force, the Revenue Officer having jurisdiction in the area in which any land is situated shall be a necessary party to all suits of a civil nature relating to any such land or portion thereof in which one of the parties to the suit is a member of any Scheduled Tribe and the other party is not a member of any Scheduled Tribe.] [Inserted by West Bengal Land Reforms (Amendment) Act, 1972 (XII of 1972).]
