1. Heard by video conferencing.
2. The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. Certain disputes arose between the parties in relation to a contract dated 3rd July 2010. On 5th October 2018, the Petitioner appointed Mr Justice Deepak Verma (Retired) as its nominee arbitrator and on 4th December 2018 the Respondent appointed Mr Justice Dipak Misra (Retired) as its nominee arbitrator. On 14th December 2018, the two nominee arbitrators appointed Mr Justice RC Lahoti (Retired) as the presiding Page 1 of 2 2nd November 2020 ::: Uploaded on - 04/11/2020 ::: Downloaded on - 04/11/2020 21:28:52 ::: 24-CARBPL-5186-2020.DOC arbitrator. The arbitral tribunal thus constituted entered into reference to its arbitration shortly thereafter and the matter proceeded before it.
3. Before the original arbitral mandate ended, it was extended by the tribunal for six months by mutual consent of the parties, which has also ended or will shortly do so. The proceedings have reached the stage of final arguments.
4. Having regard to these circumstances, and more particularly in view of the current pandemic and various restrictions, and the fact that there may be difculty in coordinating dates for the three-

member tribunal, I am extending the arbitral mandate until 15th December 2021 to complete the arbitral proceedings.

5. The petition is disposed of in these terms, with no order of costs.

6. This order will be digitally signed by the Private Secretary of this Court. All concerned will act on production of a digitally signed copy of this order.
