1. Petitioner had appeared in UGC-NET Examination December 2020-June 2021 (merged cycles). The grievance urged in the present petition pertains to Question ID 1955, which according to Petitioner, did not have any correct answer in the multiple-choices provided therein. Although none of the answers suggested were correct, Petitioner nevertheless opted for Option 1 (ID 7817).
2. On this aspect, counsel for Respondent No. 1 - National Testing Agency Signature Not Verified Digitally Signed By:SAPNA SETHI Signing Date:23.07.2022 13:06:33 ("NTA"), on instructions, brings to the notice of this Court an email communication received by him which reads as under:
"Sir, I am directed to inform you that the Result of Subject "Urdu" of UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 (Merged cycle) w.r.t. Question Id No. 1955 is being revised. Accordingly, marks are being awarded to the candidates who have opted Option No. 1 (Option ID No. 7817) of the Question ID 1955.
The revised Result of the Petitioner will be updated on the Official Website in due course. The Hon'ble Court may be apprised of the decision of NTA in this matter.

3. Counsel for NTA submits that in terms of the aforenoted email communication and NTA's internal policy, NTA has now decided to award revised marks to all such candidates who had opted for Option 1 (ID No. 7817) as a response to Question ID 1955.
4. In view of the above, the Court need not address the grievance of Petitioner since he had opted for Option 1 (ID 7817) and would be entitled to revised marks decided by the NTA.
5. In view of the above communication, the NTA shall now proceed to declare the revised result and in case the Petitioner qualifies for Junior Signature Not Verified Digitally Signed By:SAPNA SETHI Signing Date:23.07.2022 13:06:33 Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor, it shall issue a fresh NET certificate to him. The above directions be carried out expeditiously.
6. With the above directions, the petition is disposed of along with any pending application(s).
