Section 251(1) in Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920
(1)If, in any factory, workshop or work-place in which steam-power, water-power or other mechanical power or electrical power is used, nuisance is in the opinion of the municipal council caused by reason of the particular kind of fuel employed or by reason of the noise or vibration created, the municipal council may issue such directions as it thinks lit for the abatement of the nuisance within a reasonable time to be specified for the purpose.
