(1)This Act may be called The Banking [Regulation] [Substituted by Act 23 of 1965, Section 11, for " Companies" (w.e.f. 1.3.1966).] Act, 1949.(2)[ It extends to the whole of India [* * *] [Substituted by Act 20 of 1950, Section 2, for sub-Section (2).].](3)It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
