Section 23(1) in THE COCHIN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACT, 1986
(1)The Academic Council shall be the principal academic body of the University, and subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutesand Ordinances, co-ordinate and exercise general supervision over the academic programmes and policies of the University. it shall beresponsible for the maintenance of standards of instruction, research, education and examinations within the University, and shall exercisesuch powers and perform such other dutiesas may be conferred on it by the Statutes.
