Section 54(1) in West Bengal Societies Registration Rules, 1963
(1)he shall exercise the following powers namely(a)control the staff of the society;(b)institute, defend and conduct legal proceedings in Law Courts and other places;(c)call the general meetings and the meetings of the managing committee and attend such meetings; and
