Section 11(4) in Assam Agricultural Engineering Service Rules, 1983
(4)An officer shall be eligible for promotion as Assistant Agricultural Engineer, if -(a)he has passed at least the matriculation examination or an equivalent examination;(b)he has rendered at least 8 years' service on the first January of the year of promotion; and(c)he has undergone the training and passed the departmental examination, as prescribed by the Government for the purpose.
