60. Liability. -
When a non-agricultural tenant transfers his tenancy in whole or in part, the transferor and transferee shall be jointly and severally liable to the landlord for arrears of rent due before the transfer :Provided that the transferor shall not be liable to the landlord for such arrears of rent if the transferee has agreed to pay such arrears to the landlord and the fact has been mentioned in the instrument of transfer.Illegal impositions.
