Section 98(1) in The Orissa Registration Rules, 1988
(1)Corrections in Register-books shall be made with a pen, they shall not be made by altering one word or figure into another, but the pen shall be drawn through the erroneous words or figures, and the correct words or figures shall be clearly written near or above those struck out, or opposite to them on the right-hand margin. Each correction and addition shall be enclosed in brackets and given a serial number on the copy of the document and not on the margin. At the end of the copy of the document a note shall be made of the corrections and additions so made.
