Section 40(1) in The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981
(1)The Mayor shall be a ex-officio member of [every standing committee, wards committee] [Substituted by Tamil Nadu Act 26 of 1994.] and of every other committee except Taxation Appeals Committee, but shall not be eligible to be elected as the chairman of any standing committee [or wards committee] [Inserted by Tamil Nadu Act 26 of 1994.]:
