Section 1 in The Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966.(2)It shall extend to the whole of the State of Maharashtra.(3)It shall come into force on such [date] [11th day of January, 1967 (vide G. N., U. D., P. H. & H. D., No. TPA. 1166/72383-Uni-II, dated 11th January, 1967).] as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint but the State Government may if it thinks fit bring different provisions of this Act into force at different times.
