Section 20 in The Gujarat Technological University Act, 2007
20. Powers and functions of Academic Council.
- Subject to the provisions of this Act and the regulations, the Academic Council shall exercise following powers and perform the following functions, namely:-(i)to exercise control over the academic policies of the University and be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of standards of instruction, education and evaluation in the University;(ii)to consider matters of general academic interest either on its own initiative or on a reference from the Faculty of the University or the Board and to take appropriate action thereon;(iii)to recommend to the Board, such regulations as are consistent with this Act regarding the academic functioning of the University including discipline of students; and(iv)to exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the regulations.
