A suo motu writ petition has been registered under the caption "In Re Alarming rise in the number of reported child rape incidents". The same may now be listed on 15.7.2019.

The State-wise statement as well as collective data placed before the Court be made available to Shri V. Giri, learned Senior Counsel, who has consented to appear in the case as an Amicus Curiae.

Mr. Giri is requested to assist the Court in formulating the directions that may be required to be issued.
