Section 19(1) in The Orissa Mining and Geology Service Rules, 1976
(1)An officer shall be eligible to draw the first increment during the period of probation :Provided that no officer shall be allowed to draw the second increment until he has passed the prescribed Departmental Examination as prescribed under Rule 16.
