.-If the State Government has reason to believe that the grant or transfer of a prospecting license or a mining lease or of any right, title or interest in such license or lease is in contravention of any of the provisions of this Chapter, the State Government may, after giving the parties an opportunity to represent their views and with the approval of the Central Government, direct the parties concerned not to undertake any prospecting or mining operations in the area to which the license or lease relates.
