Regarding Virtual Hearing Of Court Cases- Laid on 10 March, 2021
Seventeenth Loksabha an> Title: Regarding virtual hearing of court cases- laid SHRIMATI MEENAKASHI LEKHI (NEW DELHI) : During the lockdown, courts all over the country went online and started conducting virtual hearings of cases. At present, courts use third-party software applications such as Vidyo, Zoom, Cisco and Jitsi to conduct virtual hearings. This raises serious data security and privacy concerns as these applications are foreign and privately owned. Moreover, during peak hours, the video conferencing system is riddled with technical glitches as many people try to login at the same time which crashes the system. Therefore, I request the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to develop an indigenous and specialised software for the conduct of virtual hearings.
